2007 - Decorations for service during the Second Lebanon War

During a ceremony held in Tel Aviv, on September, 2, 2007 the Minister of Defense, Ehud Barak and the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazy presented the following decorations:

The new campaign ribbon, for the Second Lebanon War.

The Medal of Courage, the second most noteworthy decoration, to 6 soldiers or their families

Medal of Distinguished Service, to 12 soldiers or their families

The Chief Of Staff Citation, to 17 soldiers and to 3 IDF units

Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Ashkenazy, attaches the ribbon of the Second Lebanon War to the flag of an Air Force unit.
 
In addition to this, 104 Citations of Territorial Command Officer, Divisional Commander or Brigade Commander are awarded in the following weeks.

At December 24, the campaign ribbon for Second Lebanon War was awarded to captain Nitay Okshi, together with the ribbon for a citation of Territorial Commander. The citation was for acts of courage displayed on the night of July 21, 2007, when captain Okashi barehanded overcame an armed terrorist trying to enter Israel from the Gaza area.
