Decorations issued by the underground organizations active till 1948

We present here the decorations that were awarded by the Jewish underground organizations to their members. These medals were never recognized by the Israeli authorities as medals of the State of Israel.

	Haganah Haganah (Hebrew for  "Defense") was a Jewish paramilitary organization in what was then the British Mandate of Palestine from 1920 to 1948, which later became the core of the Israel Defense Forces. Click here to see the decorations of the Hagana
	Palmach The Palmach (acronym for Plugot Machatz, "strike force") was the regular fighting force of the Haganah and was established on May 15, 1941. By the outbreak of the Israeli War of Independence in 1948, it consisted of three fighting brigades and auxiliary aerial, naval and intelligence units. 	Etzel (Irgun) Irgun (shorthand for HaIrgun HaTzva'i HaLe'umi BeEretz Yisra'el, "National Military Organization in the Land of Israel") was a militant Zionist group that operated in what was then the British Mandate of Palestine between 1931 and 1948.
