| Original Design - Minted by Kretschmer Medal: The designer of the medal was Nathan Karp. On a 38 mm cupro-nickel disc of 20 gram weight, a raised service emblem upon incuse lines part of the candelabra. The service emblem is surrounded by two olive branches which spring forth from five links of a chain. |

The lower side of the reverse of the medal has a serial number (here covered). Clasp: dimensions 45.2 x 14 mm. Pin back. Silver mark 925 on the lower right corner. Ribbon: The ribbon is blue with a thin white stripe. Width 40 mm. |

Who knows more about this medal?
Click here to see more pictures. The origin of this medal is not clear. It was offered for sale at ebay.com in 2007. Possibly it was a first design of the current medal, with soft metal?
