The medal was awarded to Mr. Shahar Keshet, who assisted
at October 27, 2002, in neutralizing a suicide bomber at the gas
station in the Ariel settlement. At noon on Sunday, October
27, 2002, a suicide bomber exploded in the Ariel settlement, the
explosion killed three soldiers and injured 19 soldiers and
civilians. The attack took place at the gas station where soldiers
returned from Shabbat leave to their units. Mr. Shahar Keshet
rushed to the scene to assist in neutralizing the terrorist from
the explosive belt while risking his life. This token of
appreciation is awarded to Mr. Shahar Keshet, for his vigilance,
concern, and pursuit of contact in the face of tangible danger, in
this operation Shahar Keshet prevented an attack with many
casualties of civilians and soldiers in the settlement of Ariel.
