Medals of All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress (VEK)

The All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress (VEK) is a voluntary public organization that unites various Jewish public associations and cultural foundations from both Kyiv and the regions of Ukraine.

Main goals and activities of VEK:

• Combating antisemitism.
• Internal and international support for the Ukrainian Jewish community.
• Strengthening ties with the State of Israel.
• Preserving the memory of Holocaust victims.

VEK includes organizations such as the All-Ukrainian Congress of Jewish Religious Communities, the Jewish Foundation of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Association of "Maccabi" Organizations, the Association of Jewish Organizations of Ukraine, B'nai B'rith, and others. The organization was founded by Vadim Rabinovich and first registered on July 11, 1997.

The front of the following medal shows the hebrew text "Chai", which means "Alive", while the Gematria value (Hebrew numerology) is 18.

The back of the medal is numbered at the back 081. So this is a remarkable combination.

This badge of 55x62 mm, was made in a single copy. The materials used are gold, white gold, diamonds, and garnet. This award was presented to Rabinovich V.Z., the head of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress.
