During a ceremony in the Eshtaol forest, at the monument dedicated to Chilean national hero Bernardo O'Higgins Riquelme, the ambassador of Chile in Israel, Mrs. Irene Bronfman presented the medal to Shimon Romach on account of his efforts for the cooperation between the Fire and Rescue services of Chile and Israel.
