| Colonel. Avner Balkany, military attache of Israel in Brazil was awarded a decoration called "Medalha de Reconhecimento Grau Bronze" or Bronze Medal of Recognition, for his actions in the Second Lebanon War in 2006, in which he as a helicopter pilot evacuated a wounded soldier under heavy fire. For this act he was awarded the Israeli Medal of Distinguished Service. |
