General Allenby decorated in Jerusalem 1918

General Allenby A few months after their capture of Jerusalem, General Allenby and other officers were awarded military decorations by the "Duke of Connaught", Prince Arthur, a son of Queen Victoria.
General Allenby receives the GCMG (Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George).

Major-General L J Bols and Lieutenant-General Bulfin receive the KCMG (Knight Commander) of this decoration). The location of the ceremony was close to the Citadel Tower of David, a part of the wall surrounding the old city of Jerusalem.
