medal, 1974 IAF 100th ("Flying Camel") Squadron 25th anniversary commemorative medal; struck in tombak; weight: 39.85; size: 45mm obverse depicts the emblem of the Israel Air Force with legend "11 [in the month of] Tammuz 5734" [1 July 1974]; on reverse, the emblem of the Squadron with legend "25 Years to the [founding of the] Squadron". The 100th was the first organized squadron formed in the Air Force (8 July 1949) and served as transport squadron until today. |
