The pictures below show a table medal produced in 1958, the year that the production
of state medals was introduced in Israel. On the Tenth Anniversary of
the War Independence, the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation
issued a special State medal to commemorate the "Valor of the Children
of Israel in their homeland". This copper medal has a diameter of 59 mm and a
weight of 134 gram and was produced in a quantity of 46,905.
What makes these pictures so
special is that the heavy table medal was converted to a medal worn on the
chest, offered in a presentation case.
